From Jerome Hue's estate in the Massif d'Uchaux, near Mondragon the 2007 Le Mas de Casalas Cotes du Rhone Le Coup d'Pied a la Lun displays a beautiful example of the limestone and clay terrior it originates from. There is lots of minerality here, backed by blackberry and plum as well as bacon and floral. This is really smooth and velvety straight through the finish. The Le Coup de Pied a la Lune is made from 50% Grenache, 40% Carignan and 10% Cinsault. (Drink 2012-2015) - July, 2012 (JD)
