The 2014 Château Leoville Las Cases is one of the most elegant wines from the vintage. This classy Saint-Julien is composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot and displays beautiful aromatics of red cherries, raspberries and hints of blue fruit, along side tobacco, violets, minerals and subtle smoky nuances, which add lovely complexity. Refined and beautifully structured with a gorgeous silky texture that leads up to the long, graceful finish. This will clearly need time, but the sheer beauty and pedigree from Las Cases is unmistakeable. (Best 2025-2040) - October, 2017 (JD)
