The 2016 Château Beychevelle is composed of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. It begins with inviting aromatics of red currants and cassis which are nuanced by leather, spring florals, graphite and licorice. This medium-bodied red is well structured with notable overall balance. Shows lovely bright fruits on the palate with excellent depth and freshness. Overall, this is a gorgeous Saint-Julien however it is quite tanninc at this early stage and will demand at least a half decade of cellaring to soften, but it certainly has incredible potential.
