CLÔS SAINT-VINCENT Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2014

The 2014 Cos Saint-Vincent is a lovely blend of primarily Merlot along with Cabernet Franc and a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon from a 17 hectares property with gravely soils, where some of the vines more that 60 years old. This gravely component is evident in the wine, as it possesses a profound mineral quality along with bright red cherries and blackberries woven together with wild herbs and a touch of white pepper, all taking shape as this unwinds in the glass. On the palate this elegant red possesses a medium body with fine, silky tannins, surround by a mineral infused core, which continues on through the finish. While this is already quite accessible, I expect it will continue to develop beautifully with some additional bottle age. (Best 2018-2026) - April, 2017 (JD)
