Just a stones through from Grand Cru Classe vineyard of Château Monbousquet and with Michel Rolland heading up the consulting efforts it looks like all the pieces in place for at Château Haut Boutisse to strive and the 2011 is a wonderful example. As it slowly opens up notes of blackberry, cherry, spices, licorice and hints of roasted coffee all come together in this medium to full-bodied wine. The velvety tannins provide a gorgeous mouthfeel all the way through the finish. Look to give it another few years of bottle age for it to flesh out, but overall a nice effort in this vintage.
