CHÂTEAU LUCHEY-HALDE Pessac-Léognan 2009

Located within the metropolitan area of Bordeaux, and just a stones throw from Château Haut-Brion you will find Château Luchey-Halde. This Château is owned and operated by the ENITA (National Engineering School of Agricultural Technology) and was once a thriving Château, until 1919, when it was taken over by the French Army and used as training ground. It wasn’t until 2002 where the ENITA reconstructed the vineyards on this prestigious terroir and also added in state of the art winemaking facilities. The wine itself is composed of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc and delivers aromas and flavors of ripe currant, cassis, pain grille, spices and spring flowers to name a few. This made in a modern style and offers a full, voluptuous texture along with a long supple finish. It is drinking excellent today, but can also age for up to a decade in the cellar.
