The 'Huasa De Pilen Alto’ from the up-and-coming winemaker Louis-Antoine Luyt. Louis-Antoine is a native Burgundian, but decided to take his talents to Chile to make natural, terroir driven wines. This gorgeous 100% Pais is organically farmed, from 180 year old (pre-phylloxera) vines grown by independent farmers in the Maule Valley. It displays lovely aromas of red raspberries, cherries, clove spices, black pepper, leather, smoke and dark soil. There is bright acidity and continues to deliver lots of smoky flavors and crushed red berries all the way into the long and elegant finish. No need to wait for this one, as it is already showing beautiful. (Best 2015-2020) - November, 2014 (MD)
