Chateau Mouton-Rothschild and Concha y Toro have produced a very serious and true "Left-Bank" style wine from Chile. This is extremely focused with complex layers of fresh cassis, currant, burnt toast, pain grille, pipe tobacco, espresso, mineral and even some chocolate and licorice notes showing. It has such depth and focus with excellent structure along with a big time finish. This wine could easily last another decade, but it is drinking absolutely beautifully right now. The 2001 is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Carmenère, 3% Cabernet Franc, aged 7 Months, in new French oak. There is so much to love about this truly amazing wine.
