The 2014 Vistalba 'Corte B' is an impressive release from this estate. This wine is a blend of 80% Malbec with 14% Cabernet and 6% Bonarda. Both the Malbec and Bonarda were planted back in 1948, while the Cabernet was more recently planted in 1999. This dense colored wine begins with aromas of mocha, blackberry, tar and anise. This leads to flavors of mocha, blackberry jam and cloves. Absolutely delicious, with nice minerality and a chewy mouthfeel. This shows wonderful aging potential, as it has the density and structure to cellar for another decade (Best 2016-2025) - March, 2016 (OB)
