The 2015 Patria Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is a total gem in this vintage. Made from 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc, this begins with alluring aromatics of blackberries and black cherries woven together with graphite, spices, spring florals, dusty stones, and subtle hints of lightly toasted oak all take shape and soar from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied, layered and remarkably well-structured with firm, yet beautifully polished tannins backing it all. It continues to impress with its outstanding depth, concentration. The complex flavor profile continues through the long finish, where ripe dark fruits and graphite leave a lasting impression. Overall, this is an utterly compelling wine from winemaker Tony Biagi, who started this project in 2013.
