The 2015 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon from Cliff Lede is absolutely fantastic. It begins with an inviting and complex aromatic profile of ripe blackberries and dark cherries along with spices, graphite, anise, dusty minerals, spring florals and lightly toasted oak nuances all taking shape beautifully. On the palate this is full-bodied with outstanding overall balance and structure. It continues to impress as it displays wonderful depth, along with a gorgeous seamless quality, supported by finely polished tannins that glide across the palate and grip hold on the long, opulent finish. A fabulous wine which is already extremely appealing, yet also has the characteristics to age remarkably well for many years to come.
