This 2016 Chardonnay from Brick & Mortar comes from the Manchester Ridge Vineyard. Situated at 2000 feet elevation, a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, the fruit really benefits from the elevation and elements of the sea. It opens with aromas of lemon cream, moist spring flowers and orchard fruits, followed by hints of lavender, and flinty minerals. It possesses a lovely creamy texture and wonderful purity, coupled with lots of tart citrus and apple flavors all coming to an end with a electric finish. Overall, this is a simply delicious wine that is already showing beautifully and should also age gracefully over the next 8-10 years.
