The 'Per Sempre' Syrah is a total beauty from Rita Tua in this vintage. The 2015 is made from a very small selection of only 15 barriques and the wine spent aged 20-22 months in French oak, with an additional 6 months in bottle before release. It begins with seducing aromatics of ripe dark berries accompanied by violets, graphite, smoked meats and spices all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied, with remarkable depth and concentration. It continues to impress with its wonderful poise and balance along with gorgeous, sleek mouthfeel which continues through the long, expansive finish. Just a remarkable effort from winemaker Luca d'Attoma, which will thrive in the cellar. This Syrah is one of the most fascinating I have ever tasted from Italy.
