The 2014 Petite Sirah from Frank Family Vineyards is inky and brooding, and needs more than an hour in the decanter to settle. Once aroused, it opens with a rich, decadent nose of boysenberry liquor, blueberry compote and milk chocolate. The structure and richness is really inviting, as the dense mouthfeel coats the mid-palate. Blackberry cobbler, dark chocolate shavings and roasted fig flavors contniue to impress. This is an outstanding effort in a warm vintage as well as an exceptional value by Frank Family.
