This impressive Cabernet Franc from Chappellet also includes 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec and 6% Merlot in the final blend. It begins with aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, sage, mocha, sweet spices and hints of loam. On the palate this is full-bodied round and voluptuous, with excellent depth and concentration. Layers of ripe dark fruits continue to build up to the long supple finish. This is a fabulous wine which is already offering plenty of early appeal, yet possesses the potential to age gracefully for a decade and beyond.
