The 2014 Annum is a total knockout in this vintage. Composed of a bend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc which was sourced from vineyards in Oakville, Rutherford and Mt. Veeder, this instantly opens to seductive aromas of black cherries, crème de cassis along with a lovely combination of sweet tobacco, savory herbs and earthy nuances all coming together beautifully in the glass. On the palate this is beautifully structured with a round, voluptuous texture that shows incredible depth. The core of ripe dark fruits and savory notes expands seamlessly into the long, opulent finish, as it leaves a wonderful lasting impression. While the Annum is just about impossible to resit today, it also shows promise for a graceful evolution. (Best 2018-2032) - November, 2017 (JD)
