The 2013 Bei Ranch Syrah is made from 100% Whole Cluster, with extended maceration and no Viogner component for the first time. The wine was aged on special thin stave, 22mm 5 year air dried Tonnellerie Du Val De Loire to provide light effect. The wine itself is a classic Rhone styled Syrah. After some air contact aromas of blackberry, smoke, cured meat, violet and black pepper begin to show themselves. A medium-bodied Syrah with fantastic structure and elegance, it delivers layers of dark and red fruits which extend themselves across the long finish. Wait 2-3 years for this to unwind and enjoy over the next decade plus. (Best 2017-2030) - February, 2017 (MD)
