The 2015 Alain Lorieux Chinon 'Expression' is a 100% Cabernet Franc which comes from silex and clay soils on the hillsides of the Cravent les Côteaux. This elegant wine opens with inviting aromatics of raspberries, violets, smoldering ash and wet stones. On the palate this medium-bodied with a fine silky texture which is underlined by lovely minerality. I expect this to continue to flesh out and gain complexity with some additional bottle age.
