The 2014 'Alpha' Pinot Noir is a lovely showing from Montes. This Pinot Noir is composed of 777, 667 and 115 clones, which are sourced from steep mountain vineyards on the Aconcagua Coast and spent 10–12 months in French oak barrels, 25% new. As this begins to open it releases aromas of thyme, wild mushroom and forest floor with cherry cola accents. Lithe and balanced, this shows red fruit flavors alongside lovely structure as it finishes long with red fruits lingering on. (Best 2017-2027) - September, 2017 (OB)
