The 2014 Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the Seven Hills, Loess, Mill Creek Upland, Leonetti Old Block and Serra Pedace vineyard and incudes 11% Petit Verdot and 8% Merlot in the final blend. As this slowly unwinds, it releases profound nuances of crème de cassis, green bell pepper, black olive tapenade and Turkish coffee, which all emerge from the glass to form highly seductive aromatics. It continues to impress as the plush mouthfeel leads to beautifully concentrated flavors of mocha, crème de cassis, pipe tobacco, smoked brisket and anise which remain precisely focused through the finish. Overall, is this a complete stunner by superstar winemaker Chris Figgins, which should age gracefully for years to come. (Best 2018-2035) - August, 2017 (OB)
