The 2012 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous showing which is all about freshness and vibrancy. This classically styled Napa Cabernet opens with pretty aromas of bright red cherries and blackberries woven together with wild herbs, wet stones and a touch of white pepper all taking shape as this unwinds in the glass. On the palate this possesses a medium body with fine tannins and lovely overall balance and wonderful acidity at its core. The finish lingers on with fresh red fruits minerals and light spice notes. This is a simply gorgeous cabernet which will evolve beautifully, however it will require a few more years of bottle age before it begins to hit its stride. (Best 2019-2029) - May, 2017 (JD)
