The 2014 Oreno is composed of 50% Merlot / 40% Cabernet Sauvignon / 10% Petit Verdot and open to aromas of blackberries and dark cherries woven together with violets, spices, toast and hints of graphite all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied with a round, velvety texture along with excellent depth and concentration. Flavors of dark berries, violets and spices continue to persist, as it folds in notes of dark chocolate and loam, which linger on the long finish. Overall, this is quite a successful wine in this vintage, however this demands extended air contact if approaching early. (Best 2019-2028) - March, 2017 (JD)
