HALL Cabernet Sauvignon 'Kathryn Hall' 2014

Hall has gained a nationwide reputation with their consistently excellent 'Kathryn Hall' Cabernet and the 2014 looks to be another sensational showing. While this has yet to be bottled, there is some very exciting things happening at this point in its development. As this wine opens it releases intense aromatics of sweet pipe tobacco, anise, crème de cassis, mocha and black cherry. There are profound flavors of crème de cassis, black cherries, anise, pipe tobacco and blackberry pie. This is massive and intense, with a vibrant mineral streak and huge tannins, which coat the palate. I can see this being a monster of a wine and right now this 2014 seems to have a slightly more masculine edge than the 2013 'Katheryn Hall' Cabernet bottling. - (Best 2017-2035) - Tasted from Barrel - September, 2016 (OB)
