CALIZA Syrah 2013

The 2013 Caliza Syrah is a deep-hued, opaque wine that shows its masculine side. The inky colored Syrah begins with aromatics reminiscent of blueberry cobbler, wild blackberry jam, leather and hints of mocha. On the palate this is rich and layered with concentrated flavors of black cherries, violets, coffee grounds and hints of blueberry pie all resonating through the wine. Overall, this is a another fantastic effort to add the list of outstanding wines from winemaker Carl Bowker in this vintage. (Best 2016-2026) - July, 2016 (OB)
