This 100% Carricante comes from Santo Spirito, a cru vineyard which is composed of soils rich in volcanic ash. The 2014 is a simply magnificent effort from Marco de Grazia which opens with gorgeous aromas of quince and bosc pear coming together with lemon, tangerine zest, white floral buds, along with stony and smoky minerals. On the palate this is beautifully balanced with excellent focus and precision leading into the wonderfully vibrant and mineral laced finish. This is another remarkable effort from Terre Nere which is already showing phenomenal. (Best 2016-2025) - July, 2016 (JD)
