The 2013 'Howell Mountain' Cabernet Saivignon is the most impressive effort in the latest range of wines from Hall. This absolutely fabulous and intense wine begins with hedonistic aromas of dark fruits, milk chocolate, anise, creme de cassis, and Turkish coffee which all burst from the glass. On the palate this offers uber-rich flavors of blueberry compote and creme de cassis layered with anise, mocha. There is incredible poise, complexity and depth to this Cabernet, whill all leads to the exceedingly long and lingering finish. This age worthy Cabernet is extreamly compelling right now, but will also thrive in the cellar for many years. (Best 2018-2040) - June, 2016 (OB)
