The 2009 ‘Riserva di Costasera’ Amarone is an fantastic showing, which is Composed of Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara and Oseleta. As this begins to open is releases bold aromas of black cherries and dried plums woven together with spices, tar, tobacco and hints of cocoa powder notes. On the palate this is full-bodied and concentrated with loads of ripe dark fruits which are wrapped in a soft, velvety texture. It continues to impress with its intense flavors all the way though the long, multidemsional finish. Delicious now, but I expect it to continue to drink well for another decade and even beyond.
