The 2015 Gramercy Cellars Picpoul is certainly a one of a kind Washington white wine. Picpoul is typically a blending variety found in Southern Rhône white wines. These vines were originally brought to the US by Tablas Creek in California from the famed Château Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This wine begins with aromas of toasted hazelnuts, brioche, marzipan and ripe pear. There are flavors of Granny Smith apple, green papaya, Key lime, wet gravel and bright minerality. I can't help to think how well this would pair with sushi. (Best 2016-2021) - April, 2016 (OB)
