HORSEPOWER VINEYARDS Syrah, The Tribe Vineyard 2012

Vigneron Christophe Baron first sourced from his 'The Tribe' vineyard in 2011, which is located in the stones of Milton-Freewater, Oregon. The vineyard is a small, 3 acre parcel, which is planted one vine per stake and has very tight spacing at 3.5 feet by 3.5 feet. This utterly compelling new release opens with aromas of wet stone, ash, green olive, white pepper and smoked meats with blackberry preserves. There is an incredible melange of aromatics at play. There are very dense flavors of blueberry preserves, blackberry compote, smoked meats, Unami and black truffle oil as this wine is intense and outrageously delicious. This lithe wine has unparalleled minerality for the varietal. (Best 2016-2028) - March, 2016 (OB)
