The 2011 Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino is a gorgeous wine made in a elegant, refined, traditional style. As this Brunello slowly unwinds, it eventually begins to show characteristics of cherries and mixed red wild berries followed by nuances of dried floral, minerals and mint. On the palate this is well-structured, impressing with its beautiful fine-grained, silky texture and remarkable finesse which follows through into the finish. The 2011 is an age-worthy Brunello which shows excellent potential for a long future, however today it is still quite reserved, and will demand at least another five years of bottle age.
