BIONDI-SANTI Rosso di Montalcino 2012

The Sangiovese for the 2012 Biondi-Santi Rosso di Montalcino comes from the young vines at Tenuta Greppo, which are about 10 years in age. As this elegant, refined Rosso slowly begins to open it shows signs of blackberries, flowers, leather and minerals. On the palate this is medium-bodied, tightly wound and supported by ultra-fine, silky tannins. This is extremely well-made and should turn out to be a great Rosso, however patience will be required as today this is still very restrained and even with extended air contact only begins to come out of its shell. (Best 2020-2027) - January, 2016 (OB)
