The 2010 Campè Barolo is a sensational wine from Giorgio Rivetti. It slowly opens up with gorgeous aromas of sweet strawberries, earthy minerals, orange peel, floral and finally some vanilla notes begin to emerge with extended air contact, adding another layer of complexity. This shows amazing purity, focus and balance, with a firm structure that carries straight into the incredibly long, chewy finish. Overall, this is a remarkable wine, but there is no doubt it will require some time in the cellar before it hits full stride. This is a truly great Barolo that has the potential to last decades.
