The Rodger's Creek Vineyard is positioned 800 feet up the southwest face of Sonoma Mountain, where it benefits from the cool pacific air and volcanic soils. The 2009 Syrah brings savory aromas of blackberries, dark plums, smoke, spices, pepper, cured beef and fresh lavender. Full, layered and complex with a gorgeous rich, velvety texture. The finish is long, picking up some chocolate notes that mix in beautifully with the spicy flavors. The 92% Syrah and 8% Viognier spent 27 months in 91% new French barrels.
