The 2021 Frank Family ‘Patriarch’ is phenomenal. It begins with bold aromas of blackberries, currants and dark currants and blueberries which are laced with graphite, crushed violets, tobacco, mocha and hints of exotic spices. This full-bodied red is beautifully structured and polished, with a gorgeous round, velvety texture. It goes on to impress as rich layers of ripe, concentrated fruit, consisting of blackberry and cherry flavors merge together with sweet spices and continue to expand seamlessly through the voluptuous finish. This displays a wonderful combination of power and finesse and is already drinking beautifully upon release, yet it also possesses the potential for a drinking window that could span two decades.
