The 2021 Beckstoffer To Kalon Cabernet Franc immediately slowly begins to unwind releasing attractive nuances of ripe black cherries and cassis, which are woven together with graphite, florals, tobacco, licorice and hints of herbs that round out the beautiful aromatics. On the palate this displays excellent full-bodied richness, yet remains fresh and light on its feet. It is structured with light-grained tannins, resulting in textured mouthfeel. It continues to impress as it demonstrates wonderful overall balance, as it delivers layers of delicious ripe dark fruits, along with violet and graphite flavors that persist through the long graceful finish. This is fabulous now, however it should also cruise in the cellar and continue to evolve over the next two decades.
