The 2019 Hertelendy Cabernet Franc is a fantastic showing. It instantly bursts open with wonderful aromatics of ripe blue and black fruit, which is joined together by violets, tobacco with hints of roasted coffee and traces of sweet oak. On the palate this is full-bodied with a gorgeous rich, velvety texture and outstanding depth. This shows notable power, yet remains well balanced, as it delivers layers of ripe dark fruits, dark chocolate and spice flavors that continue to build on the palate, before heading into the long, voluptuous finish. This is already simply outstanding, yet it also possesses the potential to offer a multi-decade long drinking window.
