The 2018 Vinha das Margaridas Douro begins inviting aromas of fresh red berries and cherries along with wild flowers, herbs and licorice that all come together beautifully. On the palate this is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins which lead to a core of ripe red berries and spices that work through the vivid finish. Fantastic now, and it should become even more appealing as it fleshes out in bottle.
