The 2015 ‘Cerro Sur’ Red is composed of predominately Cabernet Franc from a mountain top block in Rancho Chimiles, as well a small percent of Cabernet Sauvignon from Meteor Vineyard. It opens to striking aromas of red currants and dark cherries which are laced with spices, florals, fresh herbs and graphite. On the palate this is simply fabulous, structured with big, yet beautifully polished tannins, giving way to a dense core of ripe dark fruits framed by ample acidity which keeps it fresh and lively through the incredibly long, supple finish. The 2015 'Cerro Sur' is a simply brilliant wine which displays serious aging potential.
