LA SPINETTA Barolo 'Vürsù Vigneto Campè' 2008

top100-ico2013 Top 100 - Rank # 3
The 2008 La Spinetta Vürsù Vigneto Campè Barolo is an absolutely remarkable wine, offering seductive aromas sweet cherries and ripe strawberries followed by scorched earth, tar, licorice and finally on top of everything is a pretty crushed floral note that brings a sense of
elegance. Impressive for its amazing focus and balance as everything just falls into place beautifully. The fruit is so pure, ripe and polished, bursting on the ultra-long finish. This grabs your attention immediately and just shines from start to finish. The wine spent 24 months in new, medium toasted French oak, 9 months in stainless steal vats and another 12 months in bottle before release. The Campé really highlights the quality and characteristics of the vintage and is a spectacular effort from Giorgio Rivetti and his team. (Best 2015-2030) - July, 2013 (JD)
