#18 - Tensley Syrah Turner Vineyard 2009

Established in 1998 Tensley is a family owned and operated winery focusing on vineyard designated Syrah within Santa Barbara County. The 'Turner' is Tensley’s only cool climate Syrah and is very different from their other bottlings. This Syrah does not hold back. There is an explosion of black fruits, licorice, herbs, lightly toasted oak and a hefty dosage of black peppercorn from start to finish. This is a modern style wine but it does not get out of hand, everything is kept in place with nice acidity keeping the balance. This wine should drink well over the next decade.
