The 2017 Alpha Omega Proprietary Red is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot which was aged 22 months in 100% French oak; 75% new, 25% 1-year-old barrels. It begins with inviting aromatics of blackberries and currants which are laced with mocha, graphite, sweet spices and hints of violets all taking shape in the glass. On the palate this is medium to full-bodied with nicely polished tannins that frame a generous mouthful of ripe juicy dark fruits leading up the supple finish. This is a delicious red that will be open for business upon release and should also offer a drinking window that will span over a decade.
