The 2017 Fay Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is another fantastic release from Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in this challenging vintage. Composed of 98.5% Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of 1.5% Cabernet Fran that spent 21 Months in new French Oak. The result is an absolutely gorgeous wine that begins with aromas of cherries, red currants and plums which are accented with violets, spices and pipe tobacco. On the palate this displays a refined medium to full-bodied texture that is polished and velvety. It goes on to display excellent overall balance and wonderful finesse all the way through the graceful finish. While this is fresh and inviting in its youth, it should flesh out beautifully over the next few years and go on to have a brilliant future ahead.
